People of Rimrock: A Study of Values in Five Cultures
Evon Zartman Vogt, Ethel M. Albert
This richly illustrated book reports results of a major study, by outstanding scholars in anthropology and related fields, of five distinct cultures in New Mexico: Navaho, Zuni, Spanish-American, Mormon, and Texan. Among the topics discussed are intercultural relations, the learning of values, kinship systems, ecology and economy, political structures, and religious systems. Included is a paper drafted by Clyde Kluckhohn shortly before his death. A section candidly describes the critical problems of methodology and design encountered in this exploratory project.
